Procurement Clerk II Job Description
This position will be responsible for managing purchased part inventory, supplies and logistics to assure that daily production schedules are maintained and plant maintenance needs are supported.  SAP, Kanban, Visually Managed Inventory and other resources are used to track requirements, ensure on time delivery, and support plantwide departments. Job performance is critical to the day to day operation of the plant. Responsibilities include:
 
  1. Reports directly to the Materials Manager and is responsible for purchasing of productive and non-productive supplies from established supplier base and controlling inventory and associated costs.
  2. Will process all plant generated material requisitions to support all plant departments including, but not limited to, maintenance and engineering requisitions such as MRO parts, service contracts, and some capital expenditures.
  3. Develop relationships with suppliers and be in communication with them. Once approval has been obtained he /she will order parts using approved suppliers regarding the specification, quantities, pricing, due dates and the shipping information.
  4. Work directly with the Materials Manager on plant capacities, due dates, changes, and supplier requests on a daily basis, and then follow up with suppliers on issues that might arise.
  5. Assist in developing a materials strategy that meets the established inventory targets.
  6. Responsible for visually managing “bulk” or non MRP driven items used in production and maintaining clear records on purchase history.
  7. Maintains credit card purchase records while compiling a monthly report in Concur
  8. Compile, submit, and communicate all changes in purchasing item documentation affecting the suppliers.
  9. Disposition of non-conforming materials and obsolete materials.
  10. Actively involved with cycle counts and physical inventory.
  11. Do other jobs as required to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
 
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Prefer a four year degree in Business or related field
    • Prefer a minimum of two (2) years Materials Control and / or Purchasing experience working with MRP and Concur
    • Prefer SAP experience
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word experience required.
