What you can expect in this position:
- Participates in the recovery of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and skin tissue for transplantation from postmortem donors using surgical instruments
- Cultures, wraps and labels recovered tissues
- Cleans operating room, supplies and equipment following recoveries
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling
- On average, a case can take four to five hours
You need:
- Knowledge of basic anatomy
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of operating room (OR) experience as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Assistant preferred
- Access to a vehicle and a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License as this role requires travel
- Flexibility and dedication for handling a demanding, irregular schedule under pressure to meet deadlines
Schedule:
- Weekends - Friday 7pm-Sunday at 12pm
- You will know your schedule a month in advance
- Up to 2 weekends a month.
