Job Description

JOB POSTING! BUT FIRST, A MESSAGE:

We understand these are confusing times as we navigate the COVID-19 crisis. We are still actively seeking caregivers and support staff for our clients. We can do virtual interviews and paperwork can be completed online. Some positions may not start until the current situation is over, but interviews and hiring procedures can be completed now so you can begin a wonderful new job when this crisis has passed. The completion and approval of required paperwork can sometimes take weeks. This is the PERFECT time to start that process!

AND WITH THAT, HERE IS JUST ONE OF MANY POSITIONS AVAILABLE WITH OUR WONDERFUL CLIENTS:

Fitness Support for Young Man with Autism

Do you enjoy getting moving early in the morning, and staying fit and active?  Do you want to make a positive difference in another person's life?  If so, this may be the job for you!

The wage is $17 per hour and mileage will be reimbursed. The schedule includes a 2-hour morning shift, Monday through Friday, from
6:00 to 8:00 a.m., (10 hours per week). More hours may be available, if desired, for community recreation activities.

No need to be a fitness trainer, but some experience using fitness equipment and pursuing health and wellness would be helpful.

Job Tasks Include:
  • Driving a fun young man who has autism to and from the YMCA,
  • Providing positive coaching when using YMCA fitness equipment, and
  • Possibly providing occasional support with personal cares while at the YMCA.
Training and ongoing support will be provided. You will need a reliable vehicle, car insurance and a good driving record. And because of the investment in relationship-building and the training provided, we ask that you commit to a minimum of one year in this position.

If interested in learning more, email your resume now and a phone interview will be arranged.

Special Notes/Instructions
Experience safely using Fitness Equipment. Experience supporting people with disability is desired, but not required.
