Job Description
SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for some or all of the pick/pack, inventory, receiving or shipping activities at times using hand and power tools following the FIFO principle.  Assignment of the activities are rotated so the Supply Technician must be flexible in work assignments as the workload is dependent on scheduled receipts, shipments and work orders.  Supply Chain Technicians are also responsible for the operability of the equipment used in the work area as well as basic maintenance; and, the cleanliness of the work area.   The Supply Chain Technician records inventory transactions in the ERP system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.  Employee will follow established best practices, procedures and instructions to perform tasks safely and without product defects reporting gaps to their supervisor.
  1. Pick orders from stock or staging areas.
  2. Package and label materials per pick list or work order instructions.
  3. Prepare shipping paperwork.  Contact freight companies to schedule shipments.
  4. Unload or load freight from delivery vehicles.
  5. Receive and inspect incoming raw materials and supplies.
  6. Verify pick lists / customer orders / work orders / bills of lading information matches product, including product labels.  This includes verify product and quantity.
  7. Deliver and stage product to appropriate work area or center.
  8. Set up and operate equipment such as saws, drills, presses and trimmers to perform work order instructions.
  9. Trim, cut, finish or assemble materials per work order instructions.
  10. Perform inventory transactions in ERP system.
  11. Use measuring tools and devices to perform inspections.
  12. Coordinate inventory counts and product movements with vendor managed inventory suppliers.
  13. Dispose of facility trash and recyclables from staging areas.
  14. Perform general preventive maintenance and repairs.
  15. Complete checklists and forms and as necessary.
  16. Clean up equipment and work area.
  17. Participate in the development of work instructions or continuous improvement projects.
  18. Support the Safety and ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE METRICS
This list of performance metrics is not all-inclusive:
  1. Safety incidents.
  2. Quality defects reported by customers.
  3. Performance to work order rates.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma /GED equivalent. 
• Requires 1-3 years of materials processing or assembly experience in a similar role.
• Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings.
• Ability to hold a Wisconsin driver’s license is preferred.
• Ability to hold a forklift driver’s license is preferred but required for levels B and higher.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Activities are performed on a routine basis using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as glasses, shoes and earplugs.  At times, face shields, aprons, suits and other PPE may be required.

Employee will operate various hand tools, power hand tools, machine tools including saws, nail guns, drills and staplers.  Other equipment includes hand trucks, bagging equipment, bander, dock levelers and scanners.
