Job Purpose: The IT System Administrator II will provide IT support, monitoring and oversight of the server and network environment. This position will work in conjunction with the IT helpdesk to meet the needs of the end user.
Duties:
Manage O365 environment
Manage 2012/2016 domains including AD, group policy, DNS, Radius, DHCP
Packaging third party applications to be deployed with MDT to support Windows 10 desktop image deployment
Support and oversee systems administration tasks (Active Directory, O365, printers, group policy, network security, etc.)
Deploy and maintain virtual machines in a Microsoft Windows Hyper-V environment
Manage short term and long-term backups
Engage and oversee the monitoring, analysis and management of server and workstation health; including review of system logs, disk space utilization, processor and memory utilization as well as patch, backup and AntiThreat measures
Engage in setup, analysis, and troubleshooting tasks related to basic and intermediate information of technology hardware and software; including installation or replacement of hardware components, cabling, peripherals, drivers, software, customization of system settings, and resolution of end user issues
Install, configure and maintain security tools (web, filter, spam filter, virus protection, firewalls, wireless, etc.), and remote access to the network (portal, VPN)
Engage in basic and intermediate network protocol configuration and analysis, including identification and diagnosis of network connectivity, name resolution issues and basic routing issues, as well as set up of mission critical devices to participate on the client network
Work with vendors to trouble shoot network infrastructure, hardware and software, and other issues as appropriate
Perform system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, firmware updates on networking and related equipment
Assist and respond to IT helpdesk requests and provide remote or desktop assistance with user requests
Maintain up-to-date documentation on all server, network, hardware, software equipment and configurations
Create and update knowledge base articles to provide procedures and guidance to IT staff and users as appropriate
Qualifications:
Minimum - Associate degree (A. A.) from an accredited college or technical school along with seven years+ of Systems Administration experience in a Microsoft windows environment (Windows 2012/2016 domains)
Hands on experience managing an O365 environment
Experience with PowerShell
Proven abilities in Windows desktop and server administration
Mastery of basic TCP/IP Skills
Foundational understanding of DNS, routing, firewalls and wireless technologies, messaging systems, virtual technologies and remote access technologies
Proven technical, analytical, data collection and problem-solving skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Position Details:
Full-time
Monday – Friday, some nights and weekends
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency auto insurance requirements
Reports directly to the Director of Information Technology
