Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for all aspects of crate building, packaging of product and assisting with shipping.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all aspects of crate building, packaging of product and assisting with shipping.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for building wooden pallets, crates and boxes including bracing around various product sizes prior to shipping.
- Use efficiencies to make sure we are maximizing material usage and ensuring protection of the product.
- Ensure orders are ready for shipment via will-call or freight at deadline.
- General packaging and crating of products to be shipped both Domestic and International.
- Verify product matches the description and quantity described prior to packaging.
- Inspecting product to make sure all necessary parts and functions are included.
- Ability to take on any challenge and is self-motivated to succeed.
- Maintains high-level of safety by following company practices and policies while operating any company machinery.
- Effectively communicates to all team members, suppliers and customers.
- Contributes to creating and maintaining a professional, safe, and fun environment.

- Experience in a Logistics environment.
- Carpentry experience required
- Handy man skills, having the ability to fix things
- Forklift operation
- Ability to maintain legible, accurate written records
- Ability to perform heavy physical work and to lift and carry up to 60 pounds; the ability to stand, walk, sit, twist, reach, climb, kneel, push, pull, ride and perform similar body movements; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate a personal computer, hand tools and a forklift; and the ability to see and read instructions and drawings
- Knowledgeable in shipping helpful.
- Flexibility with the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to work independently with a constant focus on meeting schedule requirements.
- Strong safety and quality orientation.
- 5S or similar organizational skills a plus
- High school.
- 2+ years’ experience in a logistics environment, including crating and packaging experience.
