  • Hydrostatic transmission and associated engineering services.
  • High torque cam-lobe radial piston motors.
Some of our markets include construction, material handling, and agriculture. We have over 50 years of experience in power transmissions using high torque cam-lobe motors. R&D represents 6% of turnover with 60 researchers and 60 inventions protected by 230 patents in France and around the world. In order to provide the most complete customer support possible, Poclain Hydraulics has established a manufacturing and sales network covering six continents. Currently, there are 8 production sites located in the U.S., France ,Czech Republic,India, Slovenia, China and India. 24 sales subsidiaries throughout the world, and over 150 Distributors and Agents

Application Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Work with Poclain sales force to define requirements and design world class hydraulic systems for customers in construction, agriculture, mining and industrial segments
  • Size/design open and closed loop hydraulic transmission systems utilizing Poclain’s internal sizing tools
  • Serve as an internal and external expert in hydraulic system sizing, design and application
  • Generate full system schematics and BOMs (pumps, motors, valves and electronics) to meet the needs of each application
  • Calculate component lifetimes utilizing Poclain’s internal life tools
  • Promote Poclain’s products/systems through on site customer visits and product presentations in assigned territory
  • Work with internal test team to provide onsite testing and data acquisition for business critical prototypes in assigned territory
  • Manage internal projects for custom designs to meet the needs of today’s demanding customers
  • Manage distributor and end user information in Poclain’s internal Customer Relationship Management system
  • Manage relationships with internal sales force, external distributors and end users
  • 20% to 25% travel expected to assigned territory within North America
  • Travel to Poclain’s headquarters in France required 1 week per year

  • 5+ years in hydraulic system design or related experience; preferably with closed loop hydraulic transmission
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Hydraulic and/or machine testing experience preferred
