Job Description
St. Joseph Academy is currently looking for an HR Assistant that will provide general clerical support to the Human Resources function at St. Joseph Academy.  This position is required to maintain a high level of confidentiality, independent action, judgement, coordination and ability to prioritize work to meet the needs of the organization in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Hours of position are part-time, 20 hours/week.

St. Joseph Academy is a Catholic educational organization sponsored by the Felician Sisters. Our mission is to educate children to be successful life-long learners and problem solvers. We partner with families and community to fulfill this mission. The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) serves children 6 weeks through 12 years old. Our school now offers K4-8th grade. 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; college credits a plus
  • 1+ year experience in office setting, preferably in Human Resources
  • Understanding of and ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google docs
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner at all times
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide general office support to Human Resources
  • Assist in recruitment process (schedule interviews, conduct background and reference checks,, schedule pre-employment screenings, etc.)
  • Compile and maintain employee files, including filing papers and documents, preparing new employee files, etc.
  • Make copies, fax documents and perform other clerical functions
  • Maintain systems by entering and updating data
  • Create, prepare and distribute correspondence
  • Respond to requests via phone, email and fax from employees, outside vendors, candidates, etc.
  • Process incoming mail for Human Resources
  • Assist in special projects as needed
