The Manufacturing Engineer provides technical and process support while continuously improving safety, quality, cost and operational processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will own and drive improvement in process and product quality. They will maintain the procedures and ensure our Quality Management System is accurate and up to date. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead by example and readily engage team members, quickly forming partnerships with process owners and team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support for existing process equipment and facilities and supports the attainment of plant operating goals.
Leads capital projects and coordinates contractors, vendors, and internal resources to facilitate the design, fabrication and assembly of new equipment and facilities. Project management to include budgeting, planning, justification, scheduling, and execution.
Design and implement equipment or process changes to improve safety/ergonomics, quality, or manufacturing cost effectiveness.
Quality engineering responsibility and ownership for the quality management system and addressing quality issues/opportunities.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates parts according to specifications and quality standards.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial field
Prefer 2- 5 years in direct manufacturing roles with demonstrated success in the application of lean principles.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of independence, take initiative and be hands on.
Must be able to successfully lead change and teams through influence
Demonstrated ability in Solidworks and MS Office Suite
Additional desirable skills:
Experience in metal blanking, forming, or heat treating
Experience with ISO, QS or TS quality Standards
Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma.
