Job/Internship Description

JOB SUMMARY

The EHS intern will work in our EHS department as well as working with other departments to achieve desired EHS goals. He/she will have the opportunity to learn production, machining and engineering skills via hands-on training and work. The EHS intern is a hands-on position with interaction within all levels of the organization. The EHS intern will be hands-on position and be given projects with deliverables.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Process Safety Methodology
    1. Formal Job Safety Analysis (JSA) -- Standardized process for Lucas-Milhaupt
    2. Ergonomic analysis of tasks
    3. Lockout tagout procedure revision as needed
    4. Participate in Lean activities including Kaizen events, 5S, Preventive Maintenance programs, root cause analysis, 5 Why and other Lean tools to enhance productivity.
    5. Interface with Value Stream Managers, Team Members and senior management to drive EHS continual improvements

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Good communications and presentation skills
  • Understanding of basis ergonomics and JSA process
  • Understanding of basic EPA, WDNR, OSHA regulations

EDUCATION

Enrolled in a college or university seeking a Bachelor's in environmental, health and safety
