Position Highlights

The Petrullo Lab is searching for a dynamic and enthusiastic Laboratory Coordinator. The individual will support ongoing research projects by setting up and conducting experiments in both lab and field settings. The individual will also perform various administrative tasks including but not limited to the ordering and receiving of supplies, set-up and maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with lab safety requirements, and other administrative tasks (e.g., website and schedule management, liaising, working with sales reps, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities

Contribute to ongoing research projects through data management, labwork and fieldwork, for example, through data and sample collections, DNA extractions and library preparations, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs), and other laboratory techniques, as well as data processing and data management

Perform administrative tasks including but not limited to schedule management for the PI, maintaining relationships with collaborators, technicians, and other project participants, ordering supplies, receiving supplies, managing laboratory inventory, organizing lab meetings, etc.

Maintain laboratory equipment, for example calibration of balances and scales, pipettes, equipment programming, troubleshooting, and working with manufacturers when issues arise; ensure and manage laboratory safety and compliance by keeping track of and managing permits, certificates, courses, and requirements associated with new equipment or techniques.

  • B.A. or B.S. in Biology or related field
