Position Title: Optometric Technician (Ophthalmic) We will train someone with the right background and initiative. Position Purpose: Work closely with the Optometrists and other Technicians to provide the very best in eye health care. Provides support as a member of the entire office team to facilitate an outstanding experience for every patient in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Primary Job Functions:
Perform entrance testing and diagnostic testing
Intake of comprehensive medical history, chief complaint and HPI as well as scribing and efficient input of information into electronic health record program
Triage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, establish a strong rapport, and collect pertinent medical information as well as follow up care and correspondence with patients
Patient communication for follow-ups and contact lens purchases via email/phone calls
Knowledge and patient instruction in the care and use of soft/hard/specialty contact lenses
Dry Eye treatments and instruction
Maintaining a clean, organized and fully stocked clinic
Qualifications:
Strong customer service, organizational and people skills, with excellent multi-tasking and prioritization
Ability to perform continuous detailed tasks with frequent interruptions
Professional demeanor, self-motivated, and dependable
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and doctors
Ability to rapidly analyze and solve problems
Ability to quickly learn and effectively use medical software applications
Excellent computer and scribing skills
Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma, some college work or related degree preferred, or equivalent
