The Lux Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies at SACRED HEART SEMINARY AND SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (SHSST) seeks a full-time Director to oversee and administer its mission to promote Catholic-Jewish understanding and dialogue among scholars and the general public.
Primary areas of responsibility include working with The Lux Center Board and committees on strategic programming and fundraising; implementing programs in greater Milwaukee; teaching/co-teaching relevant academic courses at SHSST; serving as resource for faculty in areas of Catholic-Jewish relations and interreligious understanding; and maintaining good communications and presence between the Center and SHSST leadership, related national and local organizations, and members of the public. This position is part of Sacred Heart's Intercultural Preparation for Ministry (IPM) program and reports to its program VP.
Required education credentials include a PhD, or rabbinical or ministerial degree with emphasis in Catholic Theology, Jewish Studies, or related field and have extensive knowledge of Jewish andCatholic Studies, plus a strong interest in matters regarding Catholic-Jewish relations. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective program administration, grant-writing/fundraising and excellent teaching skills.
