Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time EMR Trainer that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities include:
The EMR Trainer is responsible for developing and providing training on the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) throughout the organization including clinical, clinical support, behavioral health, operational and enabling services.  The EMR Trainer will also coordinate format and structure of training and collaborate with area-based Super Users, internal subject matter experts, to ensure consistency in the materials used and delivery of training.    
 
  1. Develop and conduct appropriate level of EMR onboarding training to multiple roles/departments in a rapidly changing environment.
  2. Develop, maintain, and communicate training curriculum that supports effective use of the EMR enterprise-wide, including scheduled upgrades/releases, to ensure optimization of staff adoption.  
  3. Develop and implement the EMR training program and materials so that it encompasses ancillary systems including, but not limited to, Dental, Lab, and PT/OT.
  4. Maintain centralized, accessible location for EMR training materials, schedules, and resources.
  5. Conduct needs and skills assessments of end users to determine effectiveness of training, types of training needed and develop plan to address identified gaps.
  6. Assist managers and other leaders in establishing educational goals involving the use and proficiency of the EMR for a department, specific group of employees or a single individual, if necessary.
  7. Conduct classroom and on-on-one training, administer tests, and develop training regimens related to clinical workflows for newly hired staff and ongoing professional development, as indicated.
  8. Assess impacts of release notices and upgrades for relevance to clinical workflows and coordinate with EMR support team members to develop communication and training materials for dissemination as appropriate.  
  9. Work synergistically with other EMR support team members towards improved outcomes.

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of Associates degree in healthcare related field, information systems or education.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a trainer, with at least 3 in a healthcare setting.  Nursing background or EPIC experience preferred.  Credentialed Trainer in at least one Epic application, preferred.
  3. Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  4. Must have the ability to understand healthcare software, explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals, and to translate administrative and operating requirements into clear, specific, and actionable curricula.
  5. Experience with mentoring, guiding, and training in a classroom or one-on-one setting.
  6. Ability to use written and oral presentation and communication skills to effectively communicate to a diverse audience ranging from unskilled personnel to highly trained and experienced professionals with a wide range of computer skills at all levels.
