Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time Senior Application Support Specialist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
 
General Statement of Duties:
This role is responsible for support, configuration and deployment of software systems used by SSCHC. Duties will include direct user support, training, process improvement, troubleshooting and system administration type tasks as required.  This role will also aid in the support and management of cloud-based solutions as well as on premise software. Reporting to the Vice President of Information Systems this role will also act as a lead worker by working directly with the Application Support Specialist to ensure consistency and coordination of efforts, quality in service delivery and assistance in the prioritization of work effort within the application area.
As part of the healthcare industry SSCHC utilizes a diverse set of solutions which include typical business productivity tools and financial\payroll systems as well as specialized healthcare industry solutions. Support duties will vary based on the solution, as well as duties that are included in application specialist roles such as planning, configuring, testing, integration, and deployment of solutions.    
This role will be expected to have strong analytical skills as well as data reporting skills using a variety of solutions and evidence the ability to develop such skills in additional products. Providing technical support and initial troubleshooting and analysis will be key, which will require strong customer service skills and teamwork. Development and updating of documentation associated with configuration, support and troubleshooting of solutions as well as associated procedures. This role will also aid departments and business areas in effort to improve use of and accuracy of data being captured in these systems to facilitate improvement in reporting capabilities. 
Strong experience in the Healthcare industry is required.  Experience in organizations using EPIC is preferential.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in the implementation, updating and maintenance of information systems, as well as maintaining, patching, and updating these systems and client compute solutions when appropriate.
  2. Support needs associated with setup of accounts, oversight and auditing of accounts and maintaining, configuring, and auditing security.
  3. Support needs associated with setup and management of peripherals such as printers within business applications and automation of system activities such as report distribution.
  4. Work with the members of SSCHC when upgrades or updates are required to ensure understanding of changes to workflows and processes to ensure help to ensure continuity of operations.
  5. While gathering requirements, provide technical expertise on the processes and workflows within the business solution to ensure effective utilization of the system and to avoid unintended consequences that change may create.
  6. Aid in the development and implementation of a variety of workflows within the business systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency as well as provide quality assurance to workflows that help to maximize the value of technology solutions.
  7. Work with both staff and solutions specialists from partners and vendors as appropriate to address and prepare for upgrades, integrations and related issues, process improvement efforts and break fix issues as required to support the use of information systems.
  8. Work with organizational leaders, and business areas to address and support business reporting needs including expanding and enhancing reporting capabilities and correlation of data between systems and addressing exporting and importing of data as required.
  9. Support or lead training efforts for individuals and groups as appropriate on a variety of systems or changes to systems.
  10. Test and document new functionality in systems as appropriate.
  11. Regularly evaluate and recommend process improvements when identified by working with appropriate parties.
  12. Assist with the preparation of budget proposals and operational expenditure statements as requested.
  13. Aid in the development of appropriate policy and process around utilization of systems to ensure that all information systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, regulatory agencies, and legal requirements, including HIPAA.
  14. Coordinates and manages reporting needs and data analysis for the organization. Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of pertinent information required by management to make decisions occur in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner.
  15. Develops and maintains appropriate technical and user documentation, including complete user manuals, FAQs and help files.

Qualifications: 
  1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare, with at least 3 of these years in a role that can be shown to be similar in nature and scope.
  2. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and support systems in a complex environment such healthcare, finance, banking etc.
  3. Experience working with cloud-based solutions providers.
  4. Experience working within organizations leveraging virtualization platforms for solution delivery.
  5. Knowledge of various office productivity software programs such as word processing, databases, spreadsheet programs, and communications software. Experience with MS O365 preferred.
  6. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  7. Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills.
  8. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and able to bring these characteristics to this role while actively participating in a highly integrated team environment
  9. Must be detail oriented.
  10. Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities in complex and dynamic environments.
  11. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from line staff to providers with varied cultural backgrounds.
