Job Description
SACRED HEART SEMINARY & SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (www.shsst.edu) is offering a $500 Stay-On Bonus to the successful applicant who fills our open Custodian position! This is a first-shift position (7:30am – 4:00pm). This is an ideal position for a Custodian looking to work in a welcoming environment; who works well independently and enjoys being part of a team. The successful applicant will have a solid track record of punctuality and attendance; be flexible to changing work requests; be able to accept direction and supervision; be able to communicate well and have a positive attitude.
Our Custodians maintain the campus to ensure clean, organized operations and the health and safety of our students, seminarians and employees. Our Custodians play a very important part in fulfilling our mission because they:

Our Custodians maintain the campus to ensure clean, organized operations and the health and safety of our students, seminarians and employees. Our Custodians play a very important part in fulfilling our mission because they:
- Clean and prepare classrooms for daily instruction.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming. Maintain office area hallways, restrooms or other similar areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and stock them with supplies.
- Gather and empty trash from containers along with recyclables.
- Clean dust and dirt from ceiling, walls, overhead pipes, and fixtures using appropriate tools.
- Wash windows as deemed necessary.
- Mop, buff or burnish floors as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be 18 years old.
- Experience in custodial work is a plus. We will train the right candidate.
- Must have basic computer skills for communication purposes and timekeeping.
- Full range of motion and the ability to move about the entire campus.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to fifty (50) pounds such as cleaning supplies or push/pull/lift tables, scrubbing machines, vacuum.
