Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Patient Financial Services Supervisor that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
Responsibilities: Manage and Supervise the Patient Financial Services Department, directly supervise, recruit, hire, orient, discipline, develop and evaluate Financial Services staff. Develop and implement short-and-long-term work plans. Oversee and manage all daily office operations of the Financial Services Department. Establish deadlines for work assignment and completion. Identify, analyze, and resolve workflow problems. Provide coaching to employees to drive business skills and operating proficiency. Implement comprehensive training program to promote effective collection techniques and maintain compliance with all relevant rules and regulations (FDCPA, FCRA, HIPPAA, etc.). Evaluate individual collection techniques to identify areas for improvement. Supervise cash collection activities and ensure proper controls are implemented and followed. Develop and implement new initiatives and strategies within Patient Financial Services department including promotional, informational, and educational materials. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory agencies governing healthcare collections. Ensure compliance with SSCHC corporate policies and procedures, including deadlines for submitting time sensitive materials. At all times adheres to the written departmental policies and procedures as well as SSCHC’s financial policy, and all HIPPA rules and regulations. Resolve operational problems and conflicts. Serve as formal contact person for patient complaints. Investigate patient financial issues to effectively make decisions, problem solve and assist the patient. Address departmental and clinical staff difficult questions. Cultivate outreach efforts and maintain relationships with key public, private and nonprofit sector partners in support of program related activities.

  2. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems
  3. Knowledge of medical office procedures
  4. Knowledge of computer systems and applications
  5. Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement polices
  6. Ability to work well under pressure and effective crisis management skills
  7. Strong planning, organizing, multi-tasking, delegating and supervising skills
  8. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
  9. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
  10. Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and public effectively
  11. Ability to deal appropriately with employee relations issues
  12. Knowledge of Collection Laws
  13. Experience working with a bilingual, multicultural population preferred
  14. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  15. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  16. Experience in the administration of government and private grants
