Job Description
**Quality & Compliance Lead- Direct Hire** Kelly Engineering Resources is working with a manufacturer of **paper products and packaging supplies** that is located in the south suburbs of Milwaukee. You would bring your knowledge on paper converting, ISO 9001 and AIB to an organization that offers a family-oriented environment and provides autonomy versus micromanagement. **Job Scope:** You will report to the General Manager and will lead Quality efforts throughout a 3-shift plant operation. This role does not currently have direct reports due to production staff executing inspection and product testing, however 1-2 QA Techs will added in the future. You will ensure that the Plant Quality Systems yields products that adhere to both company, customer standards, ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements for food or pharma paper. Your primary focus will be to: + develop, plan, and direct processes in support of the company's quality assurance operations and goals. + maintain focus on continuous improvement + provide support, structure, formalized training for plant employees within the organization as well as production support and leadership. **Essential Responsibilities** + Develop, implement, maintain, and communicate quality strategies and programs throughout the organization. + Write and execute control plans, inspection procedures, etc. + Execute random inspection and testing of products to maintain quality. + Initiate resolutions to Quality issues - rework, containment, RCA, CA/PA. + Manage and provide input into the relevant quality systems, including: + Corrective Actions, customer complaint resolution & change control. + Quality procedures, standards, policies, & documentation systems. + QMS internal auditing & quality system reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. + Coordinate activities and lead interactions during regulatory agency, notified third party, and customer audits. + Prepare and conduct quality review meetings with the management team by continuously improving quality and reliability standards. + Direct and continuously improve standards for the disposition of finished product and rework standards by devising inspection & physical testing methods, procedures, and updating quality assurance procedures as appropriate. + Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and other requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new training methods. + Lead and facilitate all customer audits and the respective communication and documentation to management. + Perform internal quality management systems (QMS) audits to ensure that the facility is meeting planned arrangements for continuous improvement. + Manage quality programs and procedures in order to ensure that processes and products comply with government regulations, meet customer requirements, company expectations, and achieve business goals. + Provide leadership, consultation and advice to all departments on issues related to product quality and safety at a plant level. + Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards. + Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues. + Conduct quality meetings with necessary departments during Management Review. **Qualifications of the Successful Quality Manager** + BS Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences or related is highly preferred by will consider 5-10+ years relevant experience in the paper industry. + Experience maintaining & implementing QMS that complies with ISO 9001 required, AIB + Manufacturing Quality Management Experience should include: + Development & maintenance of QMS. + Record of using Six Sigma tools for RCA, CA/PA. + Record of investigating and resolving nonconformances & customer complaints. + Record of leading internal audits. + Record of leading external customer or regulatory audits with minimal incidences. + Record of staff development, QA training for all plant staff levels. + Proficient with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) is required + Proficient creating data tables such as graphs, pie charts, etc. is required + Interpersonal skills: + solve problems and implement corrective actions in a team building, non-confrontational manner. + generate consensus to support quality initiatives. + data driven/continuous improvement minded decision maker. + Communication skills required: + Verbal - can have challenging conversations in without castigating or blaming + Written - can adapt writing style as appropriate to target audience + Presentation - create & present data tables, PowerPoints for internal, & external audiences (suppliers & customers) **\#TJP2021_SPEC** **Why Kelly** **** **?** Your engineering skills are in demand, but how do you find the right fit?
