Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Director of Communications, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities include: 
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that span internal and external audiences to foster alignment and proactively shape stakeholder perceptions. Create and implement a national/regional/local media relations strategy. Responsible for building, strengthening, and managing relations with traditional/digital media outlets. Coordinate and manage interviews, speaking engagements, press conferences, and press coverage. Lead crisis communications. Develop and advance the thought leadership and voice of the President and CEO and other members of the Leadership Team including speaking engagements, media interviews, media preparation and internal communications. Support the Director of Annual Giving with all donor and development related communications. Strategize, develop, and implement internal communications to keep employees informed and inspired.  Responsible for management Sixteenth Street’s intranet. Oversee and manage organizational website, social media accounts, email marketing, and other digital assets and campaigns to grow and strengthen Sixteenth Street’s online presence. Coordinate website maintenance, ensuring that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly. Analyze reputation and image indicators, including surveys, website traffic, and social media feedback, so messaging and tone can be adjusted, as necessary. Work with Sixteenth Street departments and programs to create and execute internal and external collateral materials and communications initiatives that support and enhance SSCHC’s brand message and image. Supervise the Marketing and Communications Associate. Ensure all patient communications are written and designed with appropriate health literacy. Responsible for exterior signage at all new and existing sites. Update and enforce editorial, graphic, and branding standards for all Sixteenth Street communications/materials. Assure outreach materials comply with and support quality accreditation and donor recognition requirements such as Joint Commission, Patient Centered Medical Home and United Way. Carry out duties in both Spanish and English.
Qualifications include: 
  1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field required.
  2. Five (5) years of communication and organizational writing experience. Deep knowledge in public relations, social media, marketing strategies, and internal communications. Experience in non-profit a plus.
  3. Speak and write in English and Spanish using excellent grammar in both.
  4. Natural storyteller with excellent speaking, writing, and editing skills.  Able to easily distill messages into believable, actionable content.
  5. Experience creating and running integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  6. Intimate knowledge of social media environment, including skilled use of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  7. Strong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset, with the ability to develop performance management dashboards and models, translate data and information into actionable insights, and work with teammates to deliver strong results.
  8. Strong business knowledge with a demonstrated ability to understand how to use communications to drive business strategy.
  9. Ability to quickly build trust and influence with leaders and collaborators at all levels
  10. Experience designing digitized images, bullets, chart, image maps and other graphics
  11. Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks while working as part of a team
  12. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic/cultural and educational backgrounds and to craft messages as such in an informative and innovative manner.
  13. Skilled use of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Canva, and Outlook; basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  14. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  15. Ability to deal with the public and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  16. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, use of an automobile, and current automobile insurance.
