Job Description
Position Summary:
Assemble small to medium sized units, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Attention to detail is required due to continually changing models, styles and colors of product.
 
Essential Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned)
  • Fit and align parts and mechanisms to required tolerances and operating requirements
  • Work with wood, foam, rubber, vinyl, fabrics, leathers or other materials
  • Follow established work instructions/procedures
  • Use assembly fixtures, hand power tools, inspecting and testing devices, etc.
  • Float between stations and coordinate work with other team members
  • Glue foam to substrate using a spray gun (depending on area)
  • Glue vinyl to foam using a spray gun (depending on area)

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6-12 months general assembler experience desired
  • Ability to understand/communicate basic English desired
  • Experience with power tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Consistent and timely attendance required
  • Ability to follow directions

Physical / Mental Demands:
  • Ability to lift, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Lifting an average of 30 to 40 pounds (sometimes up to 50) 3 to 4 times per hour depending on the product being produced
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling
  • Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, quality, and thoroughness of the work.
