Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Certified Professional Coder II that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
 
Responsibilities Include: Work collaboratively with leadership to monitor daily operational activities of the internal coding team. Serve as subject matter expert regarding coding and reimbursement guidelines. Ensure coding staff consistently meets productivity goals, timeliness, and established accuracy standards. Provide education for coding team, clinicians and support staff on procedure and diagnosis coding, documentation, annual updates, payer requirements and insurance rejection resolution. Serve as first line resource to staff regarding assignments, provider issues, and clinical documentation interpretation. Identify inefficiencies and make suggestions for improvement and collaborates with internal teams to implement improvements. Conduct routine post-billing chart and note audits to ensure timely-billing, accuracy, and compliance. Develop a collaborative culture related to coding by fostering positive relationships with providers and medical staff. Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding put forth by the American Academy of Professional Coders.
Participate in interviewing and selection of potential new hires.


Qualifications:
  1. RHIA, CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P or RHIT required. Certified Outpatient Coding (COC) required
  2. Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience with at least 1 year of professional coding experience required.
  3. Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines and physician billing processes
  4. Understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party payor rules
  5. Associate degree in a related field desired
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
