Primary Responsibilities

This position will include supporting HDR Boise's Wastewater and Water Resources staff in executing projects. Projects may include municipal and/or wastewater infrastructure planning and/or design, NPDES permitting support, water quality studies, storm water permitting, modeling, and hydraulics and hydrology engineering projects. Tasks may include data review and reduction, field work, report preparation, and engineering design. Position may include occasional support of other HDR business groups (Transportation and Resources).

In the role of Intern Engineering, we'll count on you to:

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
This internship is for the Winter 2020 and the target start date is November 30, 2020. This position is subject to not being filled or start date cancelled due to escalating health situations or business-related changes.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.

  • Attention to detail a must.

  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0 GPA.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.
