PS-Companies is seeking several individuals to help conduct COVID-19 testing at a site in the Milwaukee area. Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT/Paramedic, LPN or RN experience.
We are ideally seeking individuals who can commit to a full time position, but a minimum of 20 hrs/wk will be required. Pay is $25/hr. At this time, there is no end date for the position, but we are looking for candidates who can commit for at least 3 months. More details below!
This position will be in a clinic environment and proof of immunizations, along with other onboarding will be required.
PURPOSE Under the supervision of the Testing Site Coordinator, COVID-19 Testing Specimen Collectors will explain procedures to clients and collect specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs specimen collection via nasal swab or other approved COVID-19 sampling technique based on supply and resource availability.
Uses the Dynamics Testing and Registration Application (DTRA) to verify patient identity, appointment time, and assign label to specimen container.
Provides patient education related to COVID-19 and instructions for receiving results.
Ensures proper handling of testing materials and packing for courier transport to receiving laboratory.
Assists with setup/breakdown of testing site and traffic control.
Assists Testing Site Coordinator with administrative duties as needed.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT The COVID-19 Testing Specimen Collector must be able to:
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and stand for long periods of time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to learn the procedure (e.g., nasal swab, nasopharyngeal swab) for obtaining client samples and using that skill with minimal supervision required.
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
Ability to properly don and doff PPE.
Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct.
Ability to maintain appropriate infection control practices.
Knowledge of equipment used such as iPhone, and iPad apps for patient information and specimen labeling.
