F 6:30am - 12:30pm
Overtime required as needed.
Position Summary: Operate single or multiple needle power sewing machines to perform diversified work on leathers, fabrics and synthetic materials for products having high grade workmanship and rigid inspection requirements.
Essential Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned)
Setup standard machine attachments and adjust machine, pressure foots, number of stitches, thread tension, etc. to suit nature of work and types of materials.
Visually inspect work to ensure proper machine operations, ability to make operating adjustments when so required.
Train new operators and assist in training during pilot run for new products. Ability to develop and approve work instructions.
Participate on corrective action teams to help solve sewing-related quality issues.
Develop sewing patterns for different materials including leather, vinyl & cloth for manufacturability. Responsible for meeting project deadlines.
Pack assembly
Be able to work independently or with the engineering team on new product development projects.
Be able to perform all sewing requirements within the department.

Qualifications:
2-4 years sewing experience, will consider right mix of skillset in lieu of experience
Experience with sewing complex patterns, piping, top stitching, zippers, pleats, materials to foam
Experience with using a tape measure, ruler, and other sewing tools
1-year pattern making experience preferred
Attention to detail
Consistent and timely attendance required

Physical / Mental Demands:
Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, quality and thoroughness of the work.
