Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a Full-time Advanced Practice Practitioner that is self-motivated, energetic, and a collaborative and confident individual.
 
Responsibilities include: Provide primary health care services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health conditions. Functions under the supervision of a physician, as defined by law in the state of Wisconsin. Obtain health histories and performs physical examinations, including provides family planning services and acute care to pregnant patients, provides wellness care for children and adults. This wellness care may include but not limited to screening and immunizations, teaching health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention. The clinician manages acute and chronic health conditions, orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests, refers complex medical cases to the physician staff or to appropriate outside health care providers or agencies as needed, prepares and maintains medical patient reports and records, participates in the training of nursing students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioners, medical students, and medical residents. Depending upon credentials, may provide minor procedures such as skin biopsies, joint aspirations, sutures, and toenail removal. Flexibility with schedule is important Monday-Friday, no weekend hours or call are necessary.


 
Qualifications:
  1. Completion of a Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  2. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  3. Eligible for prescriptive authority in the State of Wisconsin.
  4. Working knowledge of the social and cultural factors associated with the community’s use of social and health care services.
  5. Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and to work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representatives, health care personnel and community groups and organizations.
  7. Ability to work under pressure, maintain personal composure, evaluate situations and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients and difficult situations.
  8. Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
  9. Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
  10. Spanish speaking highly preferred.
