Position Summary: The shipping clerk position prints shipping documents and pick lists, verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
Essential Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned)
Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy
Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
Track inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the website
Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package
Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed

Qualifications:
HR Diploma or equivalent, vocational school a plus
Forklift Certified with 3 years of forklift driving experience preferred
Strong safety record
Minimum 2 years of shipping experience to become familiar with shipping identities, shipping methods and to attain accuracy and proficiency requirements.
Basic Computer skills

Physical / Mental Demands:
Ability to lift, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Moderate to heavy lifting = 40lbs on a regular basis (20% of time) and 75lbs occasionally (5% of time).
Operate motorized equipment such as fork truck. Ability to climb on and off as required.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
