JOB TITLE:  Machinist RB6                           

PLANT/DEPARTMENT:   RH/Machine                       DIRECTED BY:   Machinist Team Lead                                                                                           Advisor; or Machine Production Coordinator

IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:   
Team leaders, manufacturing engineers; welders, process, paint, tool crib, and production control

DIRECTS:   None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: 
Set up and run machine efficiently, edit programs, retrieve inspection equipment, and set up tooling for job. Properly complete required paperwork. Document edits (photos, notes, etc.) to programs and set-ups for ease of manufacturing. Record and perform operator preventative maintenance regularly. Demonstrates safety in the workplace.

MAJOR DUTIES:
 
  1. Run programs and parts with some or minimal assistance.
  2. Set up difficult parts with some or minimal assistance.
  3. Has the ability to write basic to intermediate programming with minimal assistance.
  4. Ability to run two or more categories of machines: basic manual, advanced manual, and CNC.
  5. Ability to foresee problems and get assistance resolve them.
  6. Work from basic to intermediate drawings and job layouts.
  7. Machine basic to intermediate parts with a high level of quality.
  8. Ability to make most parts efficiently within guidelines.
  9. Ability and willingness to learn or run other machines.
  10. Functions as a team player with co-workers and other departments.
  11. Trains and mentors other employees.
  12. Operates intermediate crane and rigging.
  13. Identifies and builds all of the necessary tools required for intermediate machining.
  14. Perform daily OPM on assigned machine
  15. Perform calibration of equipment as needed.
  16. Good math skills.
  17. Runs multiple machines when possible.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant machining experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • .Ability to Lift, Push or Pull up to 25 lbs individually and/or up to 50 lbs as a team
  • Long periods of standing
