United Way is a recognized national brand and is the largest funder of health and human services outside of the federal government. Funds raised through UWGMWC remain local and are invested in nearly 220-plus programs at over 110 local nonprofit program partners.
Position Overview:
Develop and implement effective strategies and tactics to broaden the base and increase workplace, corporate, and leadership giving within the Professional Division and assigned Corporate Engagement Portfolio. Participation in the planning, organizing, and evaluation of Professional and corporate engagement accounts, and management of volunteers for the assigned divisions/target markets. Direct responsibility for the fundraising results of assigned accounts and division(s). Responsible for the overall coordination and accountability of annual campaign activities. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with company decision-makers, volunteer coordinators, Loaned Executives (LE’s), assigned cabinet representatives and volunteer solicitors assigned to accounts in divisions.
CAMPAIGN IMPLEMENTATION, Support, & MONITORING (Corporate Engagement Account(s), and Professional Division)
Serve as the account manager for a portfolio of Corporate Engagement account(s) and the Professional Division.
Develop written plans for campaign project(s), time schedules, leadership prospects, and strategies for assigned accounts.
Sets goal and projections for assigned Corporate Engagement account(s) and Professional Division.
Maintain accurate account information in ANDAR.
Work with company Ambassadors to carry out all functions of their campaigns.
Research and develop plans for leadership and major gift prospects within portfolio of accounts.
Manage assigned Loaned Executives.
Assist in volunteer management process as assigned.
Prepare notes for and attend meetings with United Way leadership and/or Campaign Co-Chairs with executive level staff at companies in portfolio/division.
Remain current by having up-to-date knowledge of internal support processes.
Provide regular and timely communication with United Way leadership, cabinet leadership, Ambassadors, and assigned volunteers.
Prepare documentation and promote sponsorship opportunities for accounts to partner with United Way. Also help prepare sponsorship recaps for companies with yearly renewals.
Sell Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud to assigned accounts and help coordinate process of getting account set up on platform.
Facilitate campaign meetings with Cabinet members and volunteer solicitors within the Professional Division.
Help coordinate internal account solicitations and spend significant time interfacing with donors and potential donors.
Cultivate relationships with company decision-makers and other individuals having an influence on company corporate gifts, sponsorships, volunteerism and employee giving.
Help coordinate and attend kickoff events, leadership events, agency fairs, and special events.
Assist and participate in trainings, meetings and recognition events for internal and external stake holders. This could include temporary staff, workplace giving campaign coordinators, volunteers and cabinet members.
Prepare and deliver presentations about United Way. Presentations will vary in topic, length and audience size.
Support Volunteer Engagement team with volunteer event planning, preparation, and management.
Gather data and observations at the end of the campaign period to determine future initiatives, share best practices, overcome challenges and improve processes.
Work alongside other Corporate Engagement Account Managers on various projects that impact the whole division.
Attend monthly CROG calls for CROG accounts within portfolio. Update management and UW staff when appropriate or coordinating projects/events for CROG accounts.
Help coordinate the building-wide initiative at a few office buildings including the US Bank Building and 833 E Michigan Street.
Manage coordination of BluTender and ShowTender events at Marcus properties, i.e. theatres or other hotels.
Expected Outcomes: Increased contributions to the levels required to meet annual goals in all divisions. Integrate all aspects of United Way’s development strategy in work plans. Demonstrate effective campaign and resource development leadership. Effectively communicate United Way’s value add to all constituents. Effectively work with and manage assigned Loaned Executives. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with assigned cabinet representatives, volunteer solicitors, company leadership and personnel, and loaned executives assigned to division accounts. Provide excellent service to volunteers, Loaned Executives, and Ambassadors by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests. Intergrade all aspects of United Way’s mission and strategic plan into work plans.
CAMPAIGN CABINET PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
Provide support to Professional Division Cabinet members.
Serve as lead contact for the Professional Division Cabinet; assign volunteer calls and assemble Professional Division Rating Lists for team to review.
Develop and review prospect lists with volunteers and make assignments based on information gathered in meetings.
Coordinate Legal Thank You event.
Expected Outcomes: Cultivate positive relationships with assigned cabinet representatives and volunteers while developing strategies that will enhance workplace relationships.
DEVELOP PROSPECTS AND SECURE NEW GIFTS
Research companies and individuals to code as prospects.
Prepare and maintain prospect lists.
Analyze data, campaign results and trends as a basis for developing strategies for growth.
Develop effective strategies to secure new corporate gifts and workplace campaigns by identifying companies with the strongest vendor relationships.
Bring in at least five new accounts/streams of revenue. This can include new corporate gifts, new employee campaigns, new sponsorships, and/or new Leadership and Tocqueville donors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisory responsibility of two seasonal Loaned Executives.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree related to marketing, sales, business, or philanthropy and a minimum of four (4) years related experience, or equivalent experience directly related to fundraising.
Understanding of marketing, sales, customer service roles.Understanding of non-profits, human services and philanthropy.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
