Job Description
Yard Jockey
$500 Sign On Bonus! (see recruiter for details)
Description:
*Drive trucks and trailers back and forth on company property for loading, checking for product safety while complying with all safety guidelines.
*Complete a walk-around safety check of all vehicles to include wheels, doors, reefer unit on/off, load
bars etc…
*Monitoring N/S transfers
*Monitoring truck traffic in the yard (Observation of trucks as they pull in, where they park while waiting to be loaded.
*Responsible for fueling and the basic checks of system operations of tractor/trailers.
*Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork and logs associated with the position.
*Following all workplace processes and standards
*Daily trailer checks (oil levels, fuel, etc….)
*Sending out accurate loads, reviewing load sheets for delivery routes and verify correct product(s) and amounts are loaded onto assigned trailer.
*Checking in & checking out trailers, directing drivers where to drop trailers & taking pictures/documentation of loads.
*Experience on forklift is plus, high reach experience preferred.
*Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
*Class A CDL
*Two years experience yard switcher/yard jockey
*Fast paced/high volume work environment
*Forklift License preferred
*Clean driving record (MVR)
