Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full time Director of Major Gifts that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities includes: Identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects. The focus of the Major Gifts Director is to secure commitments at the $25,000+ level in support of Sixteenth Street’s departments and programs, expansion/capital projects, and overall agency operating costs, build and manage a portfolio of donors and new prospects, understand of the mission Sixteenth Street, develop giving opportunities aligned to donor interests and the strategic priorities,utilize predictive analytics and prospect research resources, assess prospects, make persuasive verbal and written cases for supporting key priorities, remains abreast of the most current trends by attending educational events, achieve annual individual performance, fundraising, and long-term donor engagement goals, ensure accuracy of his/her portfolio in database software, record proposals and actions about prospects and donors in a timely fashion in database, and prepare and work within Advancement Department budget and monitor resources and expenditures under span of control.
 
Qualification:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree required from four-year college or university
  2. Four (4) or more years of fundraising experience or comparable relationship-building work with focus on maintaining long-term, trusting client relationships
  3. Bilingual skills in Spanish desirable
  4. Knowledge of philanthropy, its regulations and impact to the community, as well as laws, regulations and processes related to charitable giving and nonprofit operations
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop strong and credible relationships with donors/clients from diverse backgrounds
  6. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  7. Organized professional with entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and resourcefulness.
  8. Superior interpersonal and collaborative relationship skills, with demonstrated verbal presentation experience and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced deadline-oriented team environment.
  10. Demonstrated analytic and strategic thinking capabilities.
  11. Experience with fundraising database software and Microsoft Office, including Excel. Experience with Donor Perfect preferred.
