Responsibilities include: The Grants Writer and Manager will manage the effort to maintain and grow our relationships with and leverage resources of public funding to help Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers reach its organizational goals. Reporting to the VP of Advancement, the Grants Writer will work with Advancement staff and other department leaders and staff to support their research, grant writing and grant management needs. Responsible to expand the organization’s public funding support, the Grants Writer will identify new funding opportunities and strengthen relationships with current program officers. Manage full grant cycle which includes researching and identifying potential public funding opportunities, writing and submitting letters of inquiry and grant applications, preparing and submitting grant reports and tracking reporting requirements/deadline, maintain knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations and procedures; disseminate and/or present changes to internal staff and Leadership Team as needed; advise on the implementation of changes and impact of changes on funded operations, assist President & CEO and VP of Advancement in supervising and monitoring specific publicly funded programs for quality control and balanced budget continuance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public relations or similar field
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
5 years experience in grant writing for nonprofits; government grant writing and management experience a must.
Strong spoken and written communication skills
Experience working with budgets
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals
