Job Description

Who are we?

Since 1920, our culture at Catholic Charities has been defined by our mission to “provide service to those in need, to advocate for justice and to call upon others to do the same.” We provide several social services that focus on serving the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized in communities across the 10 counties of Southeastern Wisconsin.

A career at Catholic Charities blends social service with professional advancement. Our staff is made up of a diverse group of individuals who are committed to serving clients of all faiths and backgrounds.

What is the purpose of our In-Home Support Program?

Through our In-Home Support Program, Catholic Charities provides supportive homecare services to clients in Milwaukee and Waukesha County. These services are designed to help maintain and strengthen the client’s current living situation and enable them to remain active and involved in their community.  Our goal is for these individuals to be able to live independently in clean, safe homes.

What will I do as a Homemaker?

The Homemaker position offers a rewarding opportunity for you to work one-on-one with elderly and disabled clients and make a positive impact in their daily lives. By providing quality, compassionate care to clients through services such as housekeeping, organizing belongings, grocery shopping and meal preparation, you will be working toward our goal of helping our clients live safe, happy, and independent lives throughout Waukesha County.

Why should I apply?

This is the perfect opportunity for a dedicated, caring individual with a passion for serving the disabled and the elderly in their community.  We are currently seeking individuals who want to help their community on a part time or full time basis in this program.

Homemakers work between a minimum of 20 hours up to 40 hours per week, between 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

We provide ongoing training and support.  Homemakers are paid for their time and mileage for client errands and between client appointments, as well as accrue Paid Time Off starting their first day.  Paid Holidays and additional insurance benefits are available based on how many hours staff are available to work.

What are the requirements?

As a Homemaker you will travel to client’s residences, which requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance (liability coverage: $100,000/person and $300,000/accident).

In addition, a high school diploma or equivalent is required, as well as the physical ability to bend, climb, kneel, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.  You must also be willing to travel 100% of the time, driving between client residences frequently throughout Waukesha and Milwaukee Countries, and be comfortable with regular exposure to cleaning supplies and chemicals in a variety of client residences (homes with smoke, clutter, pets, noise, etc.).

Does this sound like the perfect fit for you? Apply today! We applaud your commitment enriching lives of those in our communities one person at a time.
