Job Description

Who are we?
Since 1920, our culture at Catholic Charities has been defined by our mission to “provide service to those in need, to advocate for justice and to call upon others to do the same.” We provide several social services that focus on serving the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized in communities across the 10 counties of Southeastern Wisconsin.
A career at Catholic Charities blends social service with professional advancement. Our staff is made up of a diverse group of individuals who are committed to serving clients of all faiths and backgrounds.

We are a proud recipient of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplaces award, for 2016, 2017 and 2018.

What is the purpose of our Pregnancy Support Program?
The goal of Catholic Charities' Pregnancy Support Program is to increase healthy birth outcomes among at-risk, low income families by helping individuals develop tools for good decision making. Expectant parents carefully explore all their options and make a thoughtful and appropriate plan for their baby, whether it is an adoption plan or a parenting plan.  Services are funded through the United Way and Catholic Stewardship appeal, and are provided at no charge to the client.

The Pregnancy Support program serves the ten counties of the Milwaukee Archdiocese, and meetings can take place at the individual’s home, one of our offices, or within the community.  Services are comprehensive, confidential, and provided to people of all faiths.

What will I do as a Pregnancy Support Coordinator?
Our Coordinators assist by providing education and support to prepare individuals for successful and safe parenting. Coordinators are attentive to client concerns and meet the needs of each individual whether through their direct assistance or by connecting the client to additional community resources, including, but not limited to, Prenatal Care Coordination (PNCC), and supplemental nutrition programs. The knowledge, guidance, and life affirming emotional support provided through this role foster a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and quality of life through loving care for the expectant mother’s child.

Pregnancy Support Workers provide services Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Why should I apply?
This is the perfect opportunity for a dedicated, caring individual who has a passion for working with women, children and families to reach their goals and provide healthy outcomes.

Benefits within this position include ongoing training and accreditation, competitive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Paid Time Off, Holidays, and 403(b) plan with company matching and contribution.

What are the requirements?
Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or related field required, such as: Human Development and Family Studies, Human Services, or Sociology. Prior experience at a not-for-profit agency and 2 years of previous experience in family services or health care, preferably focusing on prenatal and child development is a plus.

As a Pregnancy Support Coordinator, you will travel to client’s residence which requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance (liability coverage: $100,000/person and $300,000/accident).
