Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Director of Environmental Health Programs that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities include:  
 
Provide day-to-day and strategic management and oversight for the Department’s, programmatic initiatives, including the Sustainable Development Program, Lead Outreach Program, Community Schools Partnership Program and others as they emerge, including the following:
  • Ensure appropriate and effective staffing levels to generate necessary programmatic outputs and outcomes.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, including facilitation of staff meetings and retreats, performance evaluations and professional development, implementation of agency and departmental policies, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Prepare grant reports and proposals for new grants, in collaboration with appropriate staff and partners.
  • Develop data collection systems and data analysis as needed for grant projects.
  • Cultivate relationships with grant partners
 Facilitate the exploration and development of strategic partnerships and necessary resources that help to accomplish the following:
  • Strengthen relationships among internal agency units and departments and external organizations that result in more effective and efficient programming and provision of care.
  • Develop, improve and utilize SSCHC facilities to support the programs and mission of SSCHC.
  • Identify and advance opportunities to implement community development and neighborhood revitalization activities and initiatives that support the programs and mission of SSCHC.
 
Qualifications:
 
  1. Advanced degree in a public health or environmental science discipline; consideration will be made for a suitable combination of previous academic and professional experience.
  2. Experience in all aspects of developing and managing multiple environmental projects, including supervision of staff, grant development/reporting, monthly and annual budgeting, program analysis and evaluation.
  3. Ability to relate well to people of various ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  4. Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
  5. Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholder groups.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Proficiency with MS Office, experience with MS Access or similar database platforms and experience with Geographical Information Systems.
