Summary of responsibilities:  The Maintenance Technician performs specific preventative maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment, including crane, fork truck, front-end loader, pickup trucks, yard air compressor, and man-lift at recommended mileage or engine-hour intervals, including oil and filter changes, checking fluid levels, and addressing any other repairs as they occur.  Also performed is general repair and maintenance for office, plant, and property as needed. 

Yard Assistance:

•  Performs field and yard welding and patching to ensure the structural soundness of all work produced and that General Contractor job site specifications are fully met.
• Operates front-end loader to transport various materials around the yard.
• Performs snow plowing, shoveling, and salting as needed.

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Welding experience preferred, and a willingness to earn welding certification within first three months of employment required
• Mechanical diesel and gas engine repair experience
• The ability to lift 50 pound several times a day and climb ladders as needed
• General understanding of yard vehicles and equipment
• Aptitude to learn and operate crane, forklift, skid loader, semis and yard trailers
• Ability to be productive and work independently without supervision
• Good communication, teamwork and housekeeping skills
• Safety minded when operating all equipment
• Strong work ethic
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
• Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
