Job Description
Job summary for Quality Assurance Assistant:
Assure food products are safe and fall within Echo Lake Foods’ and customer specifications, and are produced in an efficient and cost effective manner while observing all USDA and FDA requirements.  Become familiar with all company quality programs with the end goal of being able to perform all Quality Assurance Director functions in their absence.  All duties to be completed by the Quality Assurance Lead or Manager in the Assistant’s absence.
Summary of essential job functions
 
  • Generate product manufacturing guidelines, labels, specification for new products or make changes to existing product guidelines, labels, specifications as needed.
  • Generate standard visuals as reference for product quality.
  • Daily label approvals & code approvals for production.
  • Complete standard responses to customer complaints.
  • Complete and send Customer Certificates of Analysis daily.
  • Daily rounds of production area, with a focus on review of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Assist with training and retraining of Quality Technicians & Production personnel.
  • Assist QA manager in generating new product specification or make changes to existing specification.
  • Assist QA Manager in answering Technical surveys, questionnaire & maintain documentation compliance for customers via managing online portals.
  • Compliance verification of new retails packaging or packing units or modified existing retail packing or packaging units.
  • Assist Quality Assurance manager by managing Kosher program for all applicable plants.
  • Assist QA manager(s) with assigned QA tasks.
Minimum requirements
 
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet.
  • Highly organized with time management skills.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and complete work as instructed with little supervision.
  • High school math skills required.
Abilities required
 
  • Must be able to speak, write and understand English
  • Must be physically able to walk throughout the plant and climb ladders and step stools as required.
  • Must have visual acuity in order to detect product deficiencies and food safety issues and report to management.
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs.
