Located in West Allis, Wisconsin, Unit Drop Forge is a world class manufacturer of custom designed closed-die forged steel components. We have been producing exceptional quality parts for a wide variety of markets such as: Construction, Off-Highway, Mining, Railroad, Wind Energy, Oil Field, Compressors, Forestry and Defense.

Due to their upcoming retirement, we have a rare, outstanding career opportunity for a self-motivated, experienced Senior Accountant. This is a first shift, exempt salaried position reporting to the VP-Finance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monthly close process including preparation and posting of journal entries, analysis and other close-related responsibilities.

• Analysis and reconciliation of multiple general ledger accounts, providing appropriate supporting data.

• Prepare monthly departmental reports providing commentary and understanding of variances

• Inventory control and reporting, including overseeing cycle counts, investigating differences and updating annual standard costs.

• Salaried payroll processing, semimonthly

• Accounting for fixed assets, including managing the CIP account, depreciation, and lease management.

• Provides various support schedules and analysis for the annual financial audits.

• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

• Participate in other projects as needed

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality, be able to multi-task effectively, and have excellent problem solving, decision making, and communication skills, along with a strong work ethic

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

• 3 - 5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Strong skill level in MS Excel, including Pivot tables and V-Lookup

• Microsoft Navision ERP System experience is a plus
