Operate single or multiple needle power sewing machines to perform diversified work on leathers, fabrics and synthetic materials for products having high grade workmanship and rigid inspection requirements.
Setup standard machine attachments and adjust machine, pressure foot, number of stitches, thread tension, etc., to suit nature of work and types of materials.
Visually inspect work to insure proper machine operations, ability to make operating adjustments when so required.
Train new operators and assist in training during pilot run for new products. Ability to develop and approve work instructions.
Participate on corrective action teams to help solve sewing-related quality issues.
Develop sewing patterns for different materials including leather, vinyl & cloth for manufacturability. Responsible for meeting project deadlines.
Pack assembly
Be able to work independently or with the engineering team on new product development projects.
Be able to perform all sewing requirements within the department.
You Have (Requirements):
2 – 4 years sewing experience
Experience with sewing complex patterns, piping, top stitching, zippers, pleats, materials to foam
Experience with using a tape measure
You Also Have (Additional):
1 year pattern making experience preferred
