Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
Develop and implement effective strategies and tactics to broaden the base and increase workplace, corporate, and leadership giving within the Professional Division (Accounting, Financial Managers, and Legal).

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

CAMPAIGN IMPLEMENTATION & MONITORING

  • Initiate, prepare, and execute campaign plans for the Accounting, Financial Managers, and Legal Divisions which include goals, timelines, key strategies, action plans, research, prospecting, projections, and analysis.
  • Maintain campaign activities on project/segment time schedules.
  • Prepare call notes and attend CEO goal setting meetings with United Way and account leadership.
  • Work with Cabinet Chairs and volunteers to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Develop campaign goals and integrate the plans necessary to achieve those goals for all three divisions.
  • Communicate expectations and monitor loaned executives performance to goals/expectations and provide timely coaching and feedback.
  • Prepare progress reports for division chairs and United Way management to ensure that effective and timely communication and support efforts occur.
  • Increase the resource development capability of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.
  • Identify concerns/opportunities and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Initiate new account identification and development.
  • Review the preparation of volunteer solicitor packets for accounts in assigned division.
  • Responsible for coordinating Sponsorship requests/renewals with assigned divisions.
  • Remain current and have up-to-date knowledge of important internal support processes.
  • Cultivate relationships with company decision-makers and other individuals having an influence on company corporate gifts and gifts within workplace campaigns.
  • Manage collection of account information, input data and provide accurate reported/projected results.
  • Maintain accurate information in Andar (donor database) and other databases.
  • Attend all Corporate Relations Operating Group (CROG) calls for accounts in assigned divisions.
  • Help coordinate and attend United Way meetings/events at assigned accounts such as kickoff events, volunteer activities, Leadership events, special events, and ambassador/committee meetings.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  Supervisory responsibility of seasonal Loaned Executives assigned to Professional Division accounts.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Undergraduate degree related to marketing, sales, business, or philanthropy and a minimum of four (4) years related experience, or equivalent experience directly related to fundraising.
  • Understanding of marketing, sales, customer service roles.
  • Understanding of non-profits, human services and philanthropy.
LANGUAGE SKILLS 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, agencies, or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. 
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of group dynamics and group facilitation skills. 
  • Experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment using technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply database management software concepts to practical situations.
  • Proficient with computer applications such as MS Office, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, ANDAR, Databases and Internet desired.
