Job/Internship Description

Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time Social and Digital Media Intern that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

 

Introduction:

The social and digital media Intern will play an active role in Sixteenth Street Community Health Center’s online community presence. The intern will help maintain Sixteenth Street’s activity on various digital media platforms and create and publish content that is relevant to our patients, community and donor audiences. 

 

1.                  Assist with content creation across all social media platforms

2.                  Engage with partners, patients and the community on social media channels

3.                  Promote Sixteenth Street and program events on social media platforms per their communication plans and schedules

4.                  Assist in carrying out social media campaigns

5.                  Complete other social media projects as assigned

6.                  Help cultivate and grow engaged social media audiences

7.                  Assist with blog content creation – assist in content creation for bi-weekly, patient-centered blog

8.                  Assis with monthly E-newsletter content creation as needed

9.                  Incorporate blog content and other content on website into Digital Media Strategy when directed

10.                Update provider profiles and other content as necessary

11.                Create event pages as needed

12.                Complete other digital media projects as assigned

13.                Assist with developing and maintaining online newsroom

14.                Regularly monitory/follow online activity of relevant community organizations and news sources on Facebook and Twitter for
                     relevant content to share

15.                Interact with and compile list of other organizations or contacts we should be engaging with

16.                Regularly monitor relevant health and community related news sources to stay up to date on our environment and community

 

Qualifications:

1.                  Completion of at least two university years of study (junior), majoring in communications, marketing,
      journalism, PR or business

2.                  Creative and self-motivated. Comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration

3.                  Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills

4.                  Bilingual in Spanish and English, or looking to improve language skills in Spanish

5.                  Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook and
      Twitter

6.                  Desire to work in a diverse, multicultural environment

7.                  Available to work 15 hours per week (not necessary to consistently work onsite – must be available to meet in
      person once a week
)

 

Eligibility:

This is a part-time paid internship. We require that you bring your own laptop to complete internship projects and tasks.
