Job Description
The HR Assistant, reporting directly to the Human Resource Manager, participates in a variety of activities related to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, and compliance functions of the Human Resources department.  This position  will also provide administrative support to the Executive Team approximately 30% of the time. This will include, but not limited to, assisting with travel arrangements, coordination of meetings, communications  and other items as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Demonstrates Brewer’s core values, Learning, Integrity, Innovation and Collaboration
  • Coordinate the employment process for hourly/non-exempt roles, to include scheduling interviews, drug tests and conducting new employee orientation, placing job ads, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all required new employee paperwork
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with all local, state, federal employment and EEO laws
  • Encourage and build positive employee relations
  • Assists the HR Manager in maintaining vacation, attendance and disciplinary records
  • Participates in planning company events and community outreach events
  • Supports our wellness and safety initiatives throughout the year
  • Participates in benefits communication campaigns for employees
  • Maintains portions of the HR Department file systems and purging schedule
  • Participates in completing annual training such as OSHA training
  • Manage necessary data input and reporting using applicable HR systems.
  • Provide support and backup for time and attendance and payroll.
  • Provide administrative support to Executive Team including, travel arrangements, coordination of meetings and communication and other misc. items as needed.
  • Assist with other HR functions as needed.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field required  plus minimum 2 years experience supporting an HR function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR a plus
  • Exposure to various federal and state employment laws
  • Ability to work independently
  • Intermediate level of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment; high attention to detail
  • Understands requirement to maintain confidentiality of human resource information
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
