Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time HIV Prevention Coordinator that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual. This highly visible position reports directly to the HIV Department Manager.

Responsibilities include: Assist the HIV Director with the implementation of the HIV Prevention and Outreach activities and other department activities, conduct HIV testing and counseling in clinical and outreach setting, oversee day-to-day operation of the needle exchange, manage and participate in community outreach on Milwaukee’s south side to identify MSM, transgenders and other high-risk individuals for testing, counseling and prevention service, make presentations on behalf of the Department and the agency as needed, cultivate and maintain relationships with key public, private and nonprofit sector partners in support of program related activities, represent HIV Director at internal and external prevention and outreach meetings as requested, attend prevention conferences to assure HIV Dept. is utilizing most effective, evidence-based interventions, etc.

Successful applicants must have the following:
 
  1. Experience working with a bilingual, multicultural population
  2. Effective bilingual written and oral communication skills (Spanish/English)
  3. Experience with HIV testing, counseling, outreach or prevention preferred.
  4. Supervisory experience and the ability to provide effective staff leadership
  5. Ability to analyze and evaluate program results.
  6. Experience working with MS Office applications and willingness to learn the use of specialized software
  7. Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
  8. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, use of an automobile and current auto insurance.
