Job Description
Universal Electronics, Inc. has over 30 years experience in the EMS industry.  Headquartered in our Whitewater, WI facility, Universal Electronics, Inc. supports over 50 customers and 500 printed circuit board assemblies and sub assemblies.  We manufacture for customers in the medical, test equipment, industrial, agricultural, and scientific instrumentation. We currently have the following opportunity:
 
Electronics Buyer
This position is in our Whitewater, WI facility.  The ideal applicant must be able to multi task in a fast pace environment, interface with other departments, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable with computer systems. This person must also be able to work in a team environment.
 
Other responsibilities & requirements include, but are not limited to:
 
  • 3 to 5yrs buying experience in electromechanical, machined, plastic components, including reading/interpreting drawings and fabrication prints.
  • Experience in excel spreadsheets, documents and presentation using MS Office products
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and terms and conditions
  • Understanding of MRP, ERP Systems
  • Create Purchase orders, shortage reports in excel spreadsheet and expedite material. Ensure the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost,
  • Gather quotations examined bids; determined NPI material requirements from engineering, Monitor on-time delivery performance. Assists in the coordination and development of new suppliers and work with existing suppliers on the development of new products and or processes.
