Job Description

The QA Engineer will work on an Agile Development team to advocate quality in the software development life-cycle; create detailed test plans and procedures based on business requirements and product specifications; execute scenarios and test scripts to test functionality of the company's web based and desktop software products; perform ad hoc and manually scripted testing. This position requires a self-motivated, dedicated, focused, detailed and methodical individual to combine the hands-on process knowledge of the QA function within the project life-cycle methodology; solid technical knowledge of software development environments and tools. Has a passion for testing, commitment to quality, lifelong learning, and contributes to overall team and company success.

Job Responsibilities:

Some Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Test applications/upgrades/patches/customizations as specified by requirements
  • Following Agile principals, execute test plans for stories within the current Sprint iteration. Ensuring the application is ready on the predetermined release schedule.
  • Prepare, maintain and improve test plans, test cases and automation scripts
  • Manage personal priorities and work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Work on an Agile team with Development to assure the smooth and on time delivery of releases
  • Work with other technically skilled staff on a multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications:
  • 10 + years of Experience Quality assurance
  • 3 + years of Experience testing customer-facing web applications
  • Experience with testing web services and API
  • Understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JQuery REST APIs, JSON, and XML
  • Experience with testing web applications for cross-browser compatibility using desktops, tablets, and smartphones
  • Experience writing SQL commands for querying data for validation
  • Experience working on Performance and Stress/Load Tests
  • Ability to identify workflows and scenarios that will affect customers
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Server, Test Manager, or other automation test tools would be a plus
  • Experience working with Oracle or any relational database a plus
  • Experience working in Food Service Management or Clinical Food Service a plus
  • Working knowledge of Computrition's products is a plus
  • Strong PC and system navigation skills, specifically in a Windows-based environment
  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to consistently meet internal and release deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Forward/innovative thinking
  • Ability to work on more than one project at a time. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set priorities within time constraints
  • Passionate learner who is always improving their skills
  • Friendly, personable, engaging and enjoys working with people
  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline

It is preferred that this full-time position be based in our Bedford, MA Development office. However, depending on previous experience, we may consider a different office location.
