Summary:
Responsible for monitoring all building systems, inspecting property to ensure safe, well maintained and efficient operations, perform repairs and preventative maintenance, coordinate vendors and supervise work, assist with annual budget and managing expenses. Work independently under the supervision of the Director of Buildings and Grounds. As this position is a working supervisor position, the incumbent will be required to perform all of the functions of the subordinates as needed.
Essential Functions
- Manage the engineering staff and vendors in the fulfillment of project assignments, within budget, with quality and on schedule.
- Supervises a staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities of selection, training, motivating, performance evaluations, developing goals and developing procedures to ensure achievement of goals.
- Manage Maintenance requests to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.
- Provide leadership for the Buildings and Grounds Departments when the Director is absent.
- Suggests improvements to existing equipment; and identifies capital improvements including identifying scope, cost, and milestones.
- Assists with repairing equipment and machines.
- Will be rotating the on-call hours and needs to be available for after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency calls.
Qualifications:
- Five years or more of experience in commercial building operations; certification in one or more of the following is a plus: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, or plumbing.
- Ability to read and understand as-built MEP drawings; knowledgeable in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life safety systems.
- Strong positive communication skills and ensure exceptional follow-up with team and MMU community.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

- Stationary Engineer’s Licensure - Low Pressure Boiler Operator License 1st Class
