The Supplier Relations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the company’s supplier partner network to ensure the company maintains world-class partner relationships. A successful Supplier Relations Manager performs the following functions in a professional, effective, and timely manner:
Manage and evaluate existing supplier partner relationships to ensure best in class value, service, efficiency and flexibility.
Identify and build relationships with new supplier partners based on changing markets, business need, or current partner performance issues.
Understand and prioritize key supplier relationships
Partner with various stakeholders to understand partner performance requirements and business need
Act as liaison to respond to inquiries, problem solving and timely complaint resolution from both end-user &/or supplier partner
Develop and negotiate agreement terms and provide contract interpretation
Continuously seek and evaluate potential revenue streams without compromising quality to our clients
Maintain all supplier contracts
Establish and communicate metrics appropriate to the service/product being provided by our partners
Manage to the metrics: tracking cost savings and avoidance, supplier performance and other critical key performance indicators
Establish a published action plan to be followed when partners are falling short of expectations
Drive suppliers toward continuous improvement in the areas of quality and process
Provide reporting, as required, on supplier performance and revenue streams
Work with Sales team on RFP, RFI, Proposal requests, as it pertains to supplier pricing
