Mount Mary University is seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of a caring and compassionate part-time Professional Tutor.
Essential Duties:

Mount Mary University is seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of a caring and compassionate part-time Professional Tutor.
Essential Duties:
- Provide content tutoring (primarily in the biological sciences) to a diverse student population with varied academic needs
- Provide academic skill-building tutoring and/or workshops
- Collaborate with faculty to incorporate course-specific learning outcomes during tutoring sessions
- Assist students in identifying their individual strengths and skills in order to make study plans, establish academic goals, and maximize the student’s potential
- Maintain confidential student tutoring logs and other records as necessary
- Assist in the maintenance and evaluation of Student Success Center (SSC) tutoring material and services
- Participate in outreach activities to promote SSC tutoring services
- Participate in professional development offerings
- Assist with additional duties as needed
Knowledge, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science required- Biology degree strongly preferred
- Ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff
- Ability to work with students one-on-one, and in small groups or classroom format
- Experience working with a wide variety of learners
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to helping students become successful independent learners
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable with technology and computer proficient
