Position Summary:
The Laundry Worker provides maintenance to all linens and Clothing for residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 
  • Works alone or with other team members in the Laundry area
  • Gathers soiled  linens to prepare for sorting
  • Pre-sorts all soiled  linens
  • Pre-washes and rinses soiled linen as required
  • Load and unload washers and dryers
  • Sorts and folds linens
  • Irons personal garments and linens as needed
  • Assists in emergency laundering needs upon request
  • Marks resident clothing as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year supervised food service experience in a skilled nursing facility, retirement facility, or residential service is preferred.
  • Prior experience in commercial and/or residential cleaning is favorable, but not necessary.
  • Prior experience in commercial and/or residential laundry is favorable, but not necessary.
  • Sufficient education to demonstrate spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and relationship building skills with residents, and is able to explain residents’ needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
