Katie Kuntz, MEd, RT(R), RDMS, RVT, FSDMS is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Before taking this position in 2012, she served for 33 years as the Program Director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and Lead Sonographer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Over the course of her career she has taught many health science students and has been an advisor and mentor to aspiring sonographers. She is currently completing her second year as the President of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and resides in St. Paul, MN.


The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (www.sdms.org) is a professional membership organization founded in 1970 to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography. The SDMS, with almost 28,000 members, is the largest association of sonographers and sonography students in the world.
