Executive Director, Career Services, San Diego State University

James J. Tarbox, Ph.D. serves as the Executive Director of Career Services at San Diego State University (SDSU). SDSU Career Services functions as the central campus career center, partnering with the Colleges that make up the campus. James is the campus co-administrator of the award-winning campus WorkAbility IV program at SDSU, and teaches on campus. He also serves as Chair for the Campus Internship Working Group, which is part of the campus strategic plan, Building on Excellence. James is a past president of MPACE (Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers, www.mpace.org), has served on several committees for NACE – the National Association of Colleges and Employers (www.naceweb.org), and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice of NASPA (www.naspa.org). James is an alumnus of Penn State (M.A. and Ph.D.) and Bates College.
